March 2021 marks a somber milestone in Staten Island: one year of COVID-19. A lot has happened in a year, but recent developments may be pointing to a shift.

For decades, the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting has always been our flagship networking and learning event. Although the format was different this year, our 2020 annual affair – sponsored by Con Edison, National Grid, Northfield Bank, and Spectrum Reach -- still delivered on those goals.

As the Staten Island Mall Merchants Association celebrates 50 years with the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, Easley says the connections forged with other local businesses through the Chamber have been invaluable.

“You're either in it, or you're not. And I mean that with anything related to business. There are no half commitments,” he said. “The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce has the best concentration of businesses in America. It is the most active. It is the way to network. I attribute a great deal of our success as a company by having a presence with the Chamber of Commerce.”
