Free Financial Coaching for Staten Island Small Business Owners

Free financial coaching is coming for Staten Island small business owners, and you can get on the list now! EDGE (Economic Development & Growth for Entrepreneurs) is back after a successful pilot. It is led by The Acceleration Project (TAP), a nonprofit that provides free, high-impact coaching and technical assistance to small business owners, with generous support from the Citi Foundation.

What is EDGE?

EDGE helps small business owners strengthen their personal and business finances together. Your household money and your business money affect each other, so the coaching covers both.

The program is built on the Financial Health Network's FinHealth Score framework, with four pillars: Spend, Save, Borrow, and Plan + Protect.

What you get

  • No-cost coaching. It begins in early February 2027 and runs through September 2027.

  • Flexible, virtual sessions. Small group coaching (up to four business owners), 1:1 sessions, and peer learning, all scheduled at your convenience.

  • A shot at a cash award. Participants have the opportunity to win a cash award from a $10,000 prize pool.

Results from the pilot

The first group of graduates saw tangible results:

  • 98% reported improved financial knowledge and skills

  • 78% reported increased savings

  • 59% reported a reduction in debt
