2026 Summer of Opportunity Guide: *

Powering Small Business Growth for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and Sail4th 250

The Summer of Opportunity Coalition is helping New York City and its businesses proactively capture this opportunity. We are moving beyond passive hosting to proactive engagement.

This guide was created by The Summer of Opportunity Coalition. As New York City prepares to host the FIFA World Cup 2026™ and the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence next summer, several not-for-profit groups across New York City formed the 2026 Summer of Opportunity Coalition.

By submitting your information, your business will be included in an interactive digital map that highlights local shopping destinations across the city. During summer 2026, the map will be promoted to visitors traveling to NYC for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ and the Sail4th 250 celebration—helping tourists discover unique local shops and driving foot traffic to neighborhood businesses.

This summer, the New York City region will host the world’s most watched sporting event, the FIFA World Cup, and MetLife Stadium will host the tournament’s final match on July 19. The region is expected to welcome more than a million visitors from around the world, with the tournament generating an estimated $3 billion in economic impact.

The ABNY Foundation is launching the World Cup For All Community Grant Program to ensure residents and communities across the five boroughs can experience the excitement and local benefits of the tournament, even if they are not attending a match in person.
