Annual Programs

The Chamber offers a wide range of annual and monthly programs, providing you a chance to network with thousands of other members and increase your circle of contacts.

Click here -> LOUIS R. MILLER BUSINESS LEADERSHIP AWARDS: Louis R. Miller was a tireless community activist who viewed volunteering as a way of giving something back to his neighbors. Once a year the Chamber recognizes those members of the community that help to make Staten Island a great place to live and work. The purpose of the awards breakfast is to highlight the accomplishments of outstanding small business owners and not-for-profit organization executives on Staten Island. Nominations are reviewed by an award selection committee. Award recipients are recognized with a feature article in the Staten Island Advance, and are honored at an annual awards breakfast held in February.

A Dinner Dance Committee works with Chamber staff on picking a theme, coordinating entertainment, decorations and assisting in the operation of the evening. Past themes have included Friday Night Fever, Island Paradise, An Evening of Silver Screen Romance a Gilded Gala, and Arabian Nights.

POLICE OFFICER OF THE YEAR AWARDS: This event gives the Chamber and the business community a chance to thank New York’s finest for their hard work and bravery in keeping Staten Island a safe place to live and work. Police Officers are nominated once a month and featured in the Staten Island Advance. The Chamber’s Safety and Security Committee then reviews all the nominations for each month and carefully chooses an officer(s) to be awarded Police Officer of the Year. The awards are presented to honorees at a luncheon each spring.

Click Here -> RICHARD B. IRWIN MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING: Our Richard B. Irwin Golf Outing, held in the spring, is a great event to relax and network with fellow members on the green! Golfers enjoy a breakfast before tee-off and a gourmet luncheon after the game. Dozens of great prizes are raffled off during lunch where members can win restaurant gift certificates, golf paraphernalia, gift baskets and more from local Staten Island businesses.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING:  Every year, the Chamber holds a membership meeting to update its members on new initiatives and to offer business owners an opportunity to hear from various experts on business related topics. The Chamber also offers members the opportunity to showcase their businesses (B2B Expo) to other members. President and CEO Linda Baran provides a recap of the Chamber's year and members have the opportunity to share comments and ask questions. The annual meeting is open to all Chamber of Commerce members at no cost.

Click here -> BUILDING AWARDS PROGRAM: The Annual Building Awards Program takes place every fall. Local builders, contractors, architects, landscapers, craftsman and interior decorators submit projects that have been recently renovated, to be judged for an award. A team of judges rate these projects and determines if they will receive an Achievement, Excellence or the most honored Chairman’s Award. All winning structures are featured in a special section of the Staten Island Advance the day of the awards luncheon and a video presentation of award recipients is featured on Time Warner Cable.

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS HOLIDAY MIXER: is a festive event where Chamber members, their employees, business associates and friends gather together and celebrate with fellow Chamber members, staff and board members. This event also allows small business members who might not host their own holiday party to treat their employees to a fun, larger holiday event. The Chamber’s Holiday Mixer includes food, drinks and entertainment, as well as basket raffles, a 50/50 contest, and the Chamber’s annual Toys for Tots Drive (every donated toy is given to a needy child on Staten Island.)

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP BREAKFAST/LUNCHEONS: Throughout the year, the Chamber hosts meetings that feature a variety of guest speakers. These meetings aim to better inform our members of ways to improve their businesses and keep them abreast of what is going on in the community.
