#Teamstop&stor walks together

MLM Public Relations - Stop & Stor - October 20, 2017

The cause was one that had hit home for many. It brought a survivor. It brought a son of one who didn’t survive. It brought together those who work together. Together they supported a cause and walked under a banner that showed their pride as a team who happen to also be employees.

Stop & Stor, a leader in the self-storage service business has over 90 employees and 17 locations. On Sunday, October 15, 2017 60 members of the Stop & Stor family, including some from Brooklyn and Queens, joined thousands as they walked in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides (Against Breast Cancer) Walk on Staten Island, the corporate headquarters for Stop & Stor.

“You never know who cancer is going to hit or when it's going to hit and as a woman it's so important because as a mother, as a wife, I have a daughter, I have sisters, this hits home to us, “Denise Henick, Director of Administration for Stop & Stor said to local TV station NY1 News.

The Team had been preparing for the walk for weeks by submitting T shirt designs for a contest and collecting pledges. The winning T-Shirt design, created by Stop & Stor’s Yessenia Velasquez who is Facility Manager of the Woodhaven Queens Stop & Stor location, was the team uniform.  The T-shirt was worn by all the Team Stop & Stor members as they walked together and featured on Stop & Stor's Facebook Page.  As a team they contributed over $3200. As a corporation Stop & Stor’s sponsored the photo booth for the walk.

The feel to walk as fellow employees and as a team was best reflected in Yessenia’s design which depicted boxing gloves alongside the pink ribbon for breast cancer awareness. The design is emblematic of a the team and Stop & Stor. Together they fight for causes.
