SI Chamber Young Professionals Group Hosts Annual Business by the Beach Networking Event

Kristin Foye - July 28, 2017
A good business mixer has food and drink, but this year’s Business by the Beach, hosted by the SI Chamber’s Young Professionals Group, took it over the top with a dessert tower, giveaways, an Italian ice cart, music, games, a selfie booth, and fun raffle prizes.
The Young Professionals Group (YPG), part of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, hosted the annual event last Thursday, July 27 at the Vanderbilt at South Beach. The event featured lively music from Partners in Sound; a dessert tower overflowing with cookies and brownies at Mark’s Bake Shoppe’s sponsor table; refreshing Luigi’s Italian Ices; and a selfie booth sponsored by Rab’s Country Lanes. The YPG invited Chamber Chairman Glen V. Cutrona, A.I.A. of Cutrona Architecture PLLC to play his guitar while more than 100 guests sang Happy Birthday to Gerald Amerosi Sr. of Gerald Peters Inc.
Gerald Amerosi Jr. of Gerald Peters Inc. and Teresa Cirelli of On Your Mark co-chaired the successful event. Professionals of all ages enjoyed the energy, enthusiasm and talent of the Young Professionals Group for an exceptional night of networking.
This year, the YPG had record-breaking interest in sponsoring the annual Business by the Beach. Sponsors were Gerald Peters; Gateway Arms Realty Corp; P.A.C. Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning; Partners in Sound; Country Awards & Trophy Center; JVN Restoration; Tekie Geek; IDB Bank; the Law Firm of Kevin McKernan; Mark’s Bake Shoppe; Rab’s Country Lanes; and The Beat by Manhattan Institute.
Raffle baskets were donated by the YMCA; Pandora; Gerald Peters; PAC Plumbing; Giovanni's Jade Asian Bistro; West Shore Inn; Maaco; Ferry Ads; Scaran; Bario's; Brighton Chemical; NY Powerprint; Trademark Interiors; Steve Acta; Post Exterminating; Wicked Florist; On Your Mark; Got Lice NYC; McDermott and Thomas; Young Republicans; Staten Island Yankees; Inspire Investments; Rotary Club of SI; Enrico Bawar; La Fontana; Young Democrats; Business Guild 1; and St George Theatre.
The YPG is an organization of dedicated, talented young professionals ages from 21 to 40 on Staten Island. The group is comprised of over 150 young professionals within the Chamber’s membership. As the largest business organization on Staten Island, the Chamber of Commerce launched the YPG in 2008, to mentor and prepare Staten Island’s next generation of business leaders.
The YPG meets monthly, helping young professionals build relationships, develop professionally, become politically and philanthropically active, and contribute to the economic development and high-quality living in the community. YPG members participate in professional development workshops, host networking events, run special events, and are active volunteers in Staten Island.
The group provides an opportunity to engage in peer networking and connect with accomplished Chamber members to learn from their experience. The Co-Chairs of the YPG’s Leadership Council are Robert Myers of IDB Bank and Eric Campione of P.A.C. Plumbing, Heating, and A/C.
