SI Chamber to Hosted FDNY Valor Awards Luncheon with Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro

Staten Island, NY – The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce hosted its FDNY Valor Awards Luncheon on Thursday, March 16 at the Hilton Garden Inn (1100 South Avenue, Staten Island, NY). The event was sponsored by Richmond University Medical Center and Spectrum Reach + Spectrum Business. The FDNY Valor Awards Luncheon gave the Chamber and the business community an opportunity to honor the heroic actions of New York’s Bravest who protect Staten Island, and to acknowledge the men and women who go above and beyond the call of duty. Staten Island’s top Firefighters, Paramedics and EMTs from 2015 and 2016 were recognized by the Commissioner of the New York City Fire Department, Daniel A. Nigro, as well as the Chamber’s Safety and Security Committee.

The FDNY Emergency Medical Services Valor Award for 2016 was presented to Paramedic Henry Cordero and Paramedic Ray Bartolomey of Unit 23V1; and EMT Joseph Figueroa and EMT Bryan Anderson of Unit 23H1 for exceptional valor treating a victim struck by a train on Nov. 24, 2016.

The FDNY Firefighter Valor Award for 2016 was presented to Fire Department City of New York, Rescue Co. 5 (Lt. Sal Civitillo; Firefighter Mike Burgo; Firefighter Donny Dillon; Firefighter Kievon Harper; Firefighter Rob Hosie; and Firefighter Chris Mullen) for exceptional valor fighting a structure fire on February 1, 2016.
