Borough President James Oddo to speak at SI Chamber’s Annual Meeting & B2B Expo

Kristin Foye - October 3, 2016

Staten Island Borough President James S. Oddo will be the keynote speaker at the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Membership Meeting & B2B Expo on Thursday, October 13, from 8:30 am to 1 pm at the Vanderbilt at South Beach. This year’s Annual Membership Meeting is sponsored by Chamber member National Grid.

The program will begin at 9 a.m. with a membership breakfast and keynote presentation by Oddo.  Staten Island Police Chief Edward Delatorre and the NYPD Foundation will also be on hand to speak about the NYPD Neighborhood Policing Program, as well as the department’s “Too Good for Drugs” ongoing efforts.

The agenda will touch on what all of the new development on Staten Island means to local businesses and the importance of a safe & clean community to support economic development.

“Thank you to Linda Baran and the members of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce for inviting me to speak,” Oddo said. “With exciting new economic development projects taking place from the North Shore to the South Shore and everywhere in between, it’s an exciting time to be a Staten Islander. These new economic development programs, both those that are well known and those that have been less publicized, will have a major impact on the economic vitality of our borough, and will have a positive effect on our local businesses and cultural institutions that already call Staten Island home.”

Also at the event, Board Chair Annamarie Gentile will address the membership and Chamber President and CEO Linda Baran will present a recap of the Chamber’s year; discuss their neighborhood programs and initiatives; tourism efforts and review Small Business Saturday set for Nov. 26.  Members will be given an opportunity to ask questions and share comments.
