Richard B. Irwin – A Tribute

The career and community service of Richard B. Irwin spanned 30 years as the chief executive of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber’s stellar reputation as a beacon for business issues and community outreach were directly related to Irwin’s devotion to the community he loved.
His philosophy was as much about “the business of living” and “getting along” as it was the business of the Chamber. Intelligent and professional, Irwin possessed a mischievous sense of humor and infectious smile that put all at ease. Irwin set standards of excellence, dedication, and humanity for the Chamber and acted as a mentor, teacher, and friend to everyone he knew. He was a tireless advocate for Staten Island, and his legacy is still being lived out today in all aspects of the Chamber and its mission to serve.
