Staten Island Chamber of Commerce to Launch Shop Small “Passport to Staten Island” Contest to Encourage Local Holiday Shopping

STATEN ISLAND, NY – The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce will launch a shop small business “Passport to Staten Island” contest next Tuesday, November 10 to encourage local shopping as a lead up to Small Business Saturday. Small Business Saturday falls on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and is a day promoted by American Express stressing the importance of locally owned small businesses in communities across the country.

As part of this shop small message, the Staten Island Chamber will be providing businesses with “passports” to give to Island consumers. Consumers who spend in at least eight (8) participating shops on November 28 and get their passports filled out will be entered to win an American Express Gift Card courtesy of the Chamber. The Chamber will unveil the contest at Casale Jewelers, a local Chamber member that is highly involved in the community and Small Business Saturday.
