SI Chamber’s Annual Meeting to Include Keynote Speaker Peter Shankman, Review of Small Business Saturday, Chamber Update and Town Hall Q&A

Staten Island, NY – October 16th – The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce will host its Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, October 22nd, from 8:00am to 11:00am at the Hilton Garden Inn.

The program will begin at 8am with a keynote presentation by Peter Shankman, an American entrepreneur, marketer, investor, blogger, and adventurist. Whether it’s the CEO who needs help empowering his employees to create magical customer moments, to the Fortune 100 who needs a better understanding of its employees, to the small business owner who doesn’t know where to begin, Peter speaks and consults different types of companies and help build small business brands and improves customer service strategies.

Following the presentation there will be a review of the Chamber’s plan for Small Business Saturday, which will be held on Saturday, November 28. Small Business Saturday, deemed a national shopping holiday in 2011, is held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving during one of the busiest holiday shopping weekends of the year. The Chamber of Commerce will be Staten Island’s Small Business Saturday Champion and will discuss the Chamber’s role and how small businesses can participate.

Linda Baran, President and CEO of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce will give a recap of the year, discuss programs and events with Chamber members, and give members an opportunity to ask questions and share any comments that they may have.

The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce hosts a membership meeting every year to update its members on new initiatives and to offer business owners an opportunity to hear from various experts on business-related topics.
