How did you start in this business?  Why did you choose this field?  Is this what you always wanted to be when you “grew up”?

I previously worked for the NYC Department of Transportation in the Office of Safety Outreach and Education which provided car seat inspection and installation services.    I became a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician through Safe Kids USA and decided to parlay that knowledge into my own business venture.

My passion for children’s safety led me to become a certified American Red Cross Instructor and a member of the International Association for Child Safety (IAFCS).

I’ve always loved children and I’ve always wanted to be of service to my community.  My business combines both passions.

What is the most important business lesson you’ve ever learned?  Life lesson?

I have found in business and in life, if you treat others with kindness and respect, it will   always be returned.

Who is a mentor or role model that you may attribute to your success?  What lessons or qualities have you picked up from them?

Without the help and support of my sister, Jennifer Cutrona, and her husband, Bob Cutrona, I might not have had the courage to venture out on my own.  They are both examples of how entrepreneurship, hard work and a love for what you do contribute to a satisfying and fulfilling life.  Their example continues to inspire me every day.

What advice would you give another Young Professional looking to start their own business?

When we look back on our lives, we regret the things that we never tried- not the things that we did.   So, take a chance, follow your dreams and don’t live with regrets!

When did you join the SICC?  What benefits have you seen from your membership?  What aspect of your membership do you find to be the most valuable/useful?

I joined the SICC in 2013.  In that short amount of time, I have attended “Business Before Hours”, “Business After Hours”, YPG mixers and other networking events.   At all of these events, I have made meaningful contacts, received helpful advice and obtained great business ideas.  I look forward to more of the same in the future.
