Councilwoman Rose to Join SICC in Visit to Local Businesses Along Forest Ave.
October 12, 2010The Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee, members of the Board of Directors and Chamber ambassadors will visit businesses along Forest Avenue on Wednesday, October 13, 2010, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The group will be meeting in the Pathmark Shopping Plaza, between Forest Ave. and Barrett Ave. at 9:30 a.m.
Participants will visit businesses that are both members and non-members of the Chamber. In the light of the present economic climate, the Chamber will offer them suggestions to improve business and offer assistance with any issues the business owner’s may be facing. To this effect, joining the group will be Councilwoman Debi Rose, Victoria Larsen Cerullo, Staten Island Representative from Mayor Bloomberg’s office, Bernadette Nation, director of the Business Outreach Team for NYC Small Business Services and Robert Myers of NYC Business Solutions Center.
“These visits are extremely important because they help build awareness about all the Chamber does and has to offer to both members and non-members. We let businesses know that the Chamber is a valuable resource for them and we are here to help in any way possible”, states Ken Schneider (P.A.C. Plumbing, Heating & A/C), chair of the Membership Committee.
Business site visits are coordinated by the Chamber’s Membership Committee and are held on a continuing basis throughout the year. Prior outings have included visits to business districts in New Dorp, Tottenville, Huguenot, Eltingville, Great Kills, Port Richmond, Grant City, Downtown Staten Island and Hylan Blvd.
