The group meets every Tuesday at 7:45 AM for an hour to work towards increasing each other’s business success. These weekly meetings help to build close professional relationships by offering members the opportunity to learn about each other’s businesses, share tips, exchange leads and hear speakers on a variety of topics.

There are a few rules of participation we would like to ensure you are comfortable with:

  • You must be an SICC member to join the group.
  • Commitment is for one year.
  • Commitment encompasses attending weekly meetings.
  • Information is shared confidentially among participating members.
  • Business Guild works best when everyone participates and active participation by every member is necessary for the group’s success.

You may request to attend up to two meetings for free before committing to joining a group here.
** $15.00 non-refundable application fee due with every Business Guild application. There will be a $85 membership fee upon acceptance into the Business Guild.

John Shall Jr., CPA. - DeSantis, Kiefer, Shall and Sarcone (President & Vice President)
John Shall Jr. is a second generation partner in the Certified Public Accounting firm of DeSantis, Kiefer, Shall & Sarcone, LLP, which is one of the largest and oldest accounting firms on Staten Island. Mr. Shall is partner in charge of client development with an emphasis in providing tax, consulting and accounting services to businesses in the metropolitan area.

Mr. Shall is a lifelong Staten Islander who is a graduate of Staten Island Technical High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and a Masters of Business Administration in finance from Wagner College, Staten Island. He holds membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Additionally he holds insurance licenses in New York, New Jersey, and Florida and is associated with 1st Global, Inc. where he is a registered representative holding Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.

Mr. Shall is currently the treasurer of The Seaman's Society for Children and Families. He is also currently a member of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce Business Guild 1.

Michael is an independent CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ who practices in New York and New Jersey. He works with individuals and business owners alike to help save for retirement and manage their assets. He is currently the President of Inspire Investment Solutions, LLC.



Irene Nikhamov - Vextor Data (President)
Having formal education in mechanical engineering and physics, with an extensive background in business administration, human resources, executive recruiting, and e-Commerce website development, Irene Nikhamov, CEO and Founder of Select POP, brings a myriad of dynamic skills to any table – all of which play an important role. Between overseeing multiple areas of practice within her current role as an entrepreneur, she exemplifies the position of a hands-on executive, setting a level of precedence amongst the workforce.  Her passion lies in understanding how companies utilize all technical resources to position themselves ahead of their competition. Thinking "out-of-the-box" and possessing a top tier level of creative strategy, Irene can analyze how companies strategize their production and conceptualize how technology can help achieve goals, while streamlining the processes to get there.

Joseph J. Asterita, Esq. - Bonfiglio & Asterita, LLC 
Joseph J. Asterita, Esq., is an a partner at the law firm of Bonfiglio & Asterita, LLC. Among the many legal services offered by his firm. Mr. Asterita focuses on providing clients with his expertise in three primary practice areas; Real Estate; Wills, Trusts & Estates; and Business Law. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Affairs at The George Washington University in 1996 and his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1999. While attending Brooklyn Law School Mr. Asterita studied abroad at the University of Bologna, Italy, where he focused on Business Law. Jon Cruz - The Cornerstone Group of New York
Jon entered the financial sector in his early 20's, and spent the first 10 years of his career on Wall Street in the commercial financing space. As a member of the executive team, he successfully grew a boutique firm into a Multi million dollar a year business as both a broker and a direct lender.

Always looking for the next challenge, Jon decided to pursue real estate financing and investing as his next passion. "I Chose to partner with The Cornerstone Group of New York due to the reputation they have maintained, and the relationships they have developed over the last decade of service to their local communities. I believe that The Cornerstone Group has established an incredible foundation that I will be able to continue to build upon. Chuck Sommers - GroundForce Logistics
Chuck is the Sales Director of the Retail & Construction Division at GroundForce Logistics. The company is based in Downtown Newark with truck yards and other offices on Long Island and in Kearny, NJ. GroundForce is a full-service freight logistics company offering international, domestic and intermodal shipping, drayage services, white-glove delivery and installation/assembly services. They do everything except residential moves.

Chuck is a native Staten Islander from SE Annadale. He attended OLSS and Farrell and graduated with a BARCH from NJIT in 1992. He started his career as an architect before crossing over to project management. He worked 17 years in store design and construction for Louis Vuitton, Elie Tahari, Salvatore Ferragamo and Jimmy Choo. He held positions from Project Manager to VP. He changed careers in February '17 to work for GroundForce. He still works on retail construction projects, but from the logistics side. He is much happier. A former boss and mentor (Keith Green) once said, "We're not building stores, we're building relationships." Chuck recalls those words every day.


Thomas Mauro Jr. - Metro One Loss Prevention Services Group (LPSG)
Thomas Mauro is the Senior Director of Corporate Security at Metro One Security. He retired as a Captain from the NYPD where he commanded police precincts in Brooklyn, Leadership Development at the NYC Police Academy, then promoted to Incident Commander for the borough of Staten Island. He consulted for FEMA developing emergency preparedness training programs and trained responders nationwide in the National Incident Management System. He joined the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Office of Emergency Management where he built their Incident Command System from the ground up and played key roles for the city during Hurricanes Irene and Sandy as well as the response to H1N1 Pandemic Influenza. He prepared 7,000 staff for emergencies by delivering concise but robust training and exercise programs for all levels. Mr. Mauro is a subject matter expert in Adult Learning, Active Shooter Incidents, Disaster Management, Emergency Action Planning, Medical Points of Dispensing and Police Protocols. Mr. Mauro has a MA in Criminal Justice/Research Design from SUNY Albany and a BA in English Education from CUNY Staten Island. He is an adjunct professor of Disaster Preparedness for the School of Nursing at Wagner College, and is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP), FEMA Master Trainer, and graduate of the 210 Session of the FBI National Academy.
