STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (January 2012) The Honorable Orlando Marrazzo Jr. will swear in the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce 2012 Officers and Board of Directors, as well as the Foundation Board of Directors Thursday, Jan. 26.
Staten Island, NY. January 17, 2012 –Staten Island’s local delegation will meet with Chamber of Commerce members at a special legislative breakfast to be held on February 3rd from 8:30am to 10:30am at the Historic Old Bermuda Inn (2512 Arthur Kill Road).
The application deadline for the Chamber's special 50th annual Building Awards Program is being extended to September 23rd, 2011.

Recently, the Five Borough Chamber Alliance of New York City sent a letter to Congressional Representatives asking that payment of the Interest Assessment Surcharge (IAS) to the Unemployment Insurance Division of the NYS Department of Labor be postponed or reassessed. It was sent in response to a July notification to businesses requiring them to pay $21.25 per employee to offset interest payments to the Federal Government.
The 5 Boro Chamber Alliance stands in full support of New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn's decision regarding the Paid Sick Leave bill at this juncture. Her position recognizes the negative impact this would have on the employers who create and keep the jobs necessary to get us back on the road to economic recovery.
