Five Borough Chamber Alliance Sends Letter in Response to Interest Assessment Surcharge
Crain's New York Business - August 10, 2011Recently, the Five Borough Chamber Alliance of New York City sent a letter to Congressional Representatives asking that payment of the Interest Assessment Surcharge (IAS) to the Unemployment Insurance Division of the NYS Department of Labor be postponed or reassessed. It was sent in response to a July notification to businesses requiring them to pay $21.25 per employee to offset interest payments to the Federal Government.
